Hungary Judo World Championships 2025

2025-06-12

In 2025 the world judo championships will take place in the Hungarian capital Budapest.

The judo family will therefore be reunited again in Hungary for what is already shaping up to be a major event of the post-Olympic year, while the last edition in Hungary took place in 2021. With its headquarters in Hungary, the International Judo Federation is pleased to once again bring together countries from around the world for the annual IJF flagship event.

The competition will begin on 13th June 2025, and will take place following the Olympic format with the individual tournament between 13th and 19th June and the mixed team tournament on 20th June.

The registration for the Budapest World Championships has closed, with 566 judokas from 91 countries competing, including 20 Olympic champions, 28 world champions, and numerous athletes who have won five or more Olympic, world, or continental medals. While it's impossible to predict the results in advance, what we are certain of is that it will be a spectacular event and an exceptionally high-level competition. After the success of the last edition in Abu Dhabi in 2024 and the global impact of judo at the Paris 2024 Games, the OTP Bank World Judo Championships Hungary 2025 are highly anticipated.
